Concordia University OpenSearch Plugin (Created by Me, Ahmed Karam)

Hey everyone, I just got my new laptop and one of the first things i like to do is personalize Firefox (best internet browser) and as you all know i go to Concordia University In Montreal, Quebec. So I created an Open Search plugin for Firefox (ok fine it works on internet explorer 7 as well) which allows you to search the Concordia Site from within Firefox (or ie7) without opening the Concordia site. WOW, thats it no one can take on Google, i wont even take the time to explain because i wont be as efficient and well presented as Google, so just click the link and see how cool Google is. OK NEVERMIND I BET ITS AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE, ill find out soon, even if it is pretty smart idea, what i think it will be is the same as gmail they annouced it as a joke and it was real hence the joke was the joke.

UPDATE: I was right its an April fools joke non the less it was a great idea.

PS3 Folding@Home

Folding@home

Well if you don’t know what folding@home is, it’s a distributed computing effort (which means it accomplishes more by letting people around the world use their spare cpu cycles) it helps cancer research as well as other diseases. and why is the ps3 so important for this effort? well its about 30 times more powerful than the average pc. so if you have a ps3 download the 1.60 firmware update (which i believe upscales ps2 games) and then in the network menu there will be a folding@home icon, which will download a 51mb installation, and then you are folding! (forgot to mention i’ve got 3 ps3’s folding as much as i can (my friends arent into it so much so i keep turning folding on when they arent using the ps3!))

New Theme

I loved K2 (the theme i was using) it’s a very powerful theme, but i thought i needed to change up the theme of the website and found this one (Fresh), it’s very energetic and uses nice colors.

Well thats the way it seems, I’ve posted more posts in the last couple of days than many previous months together! I’m trying to give my site some CPR, if you have any ideas, let me know!

Wow, this site is really cool (http://www.chacha.com) its a site that has guides(actual people) that help you search for something, they chat with you, and help you find what you want, and yes they are real people I am certain, so thanks to Ray, my friend I know about this site, hopefully soon I will become a guide as well lets hope
