Skype – A Little Extra For You!

Wow, skype is giving us a free week, because of microsoft;)  heres what the email had to say

Hello

You may or may not know but last week Skype wasn’t available for a
couple of days.  There were a number of reasons for this and I am
delighted to say that the problem is now well and truly sorted and
everything is back to normal.  For those of you who tried to use Skype
during that time but couldn’t, we’re very sorry. For those of you who
didn’t try to use Skype – well thankfully you were not affected but we
want to reassure everyone that Skype is now working happily and the
problem is fixed.

We know we have many faithful users out there who give us feedback
(good and bad) on what we’re doing as a company.  The Skype community
makes us what we are.  Without you, our users, we simply wouldn’t
exist.  We’ve helped people stay in touch with their friends and
family over the past four years without any massive hitch and we want
it to stay that way.

When the unexpected happens, it’s important to remember the people who
stuck behind us and whose loyalty humbled us.  I want to thank
everyone for their support, patience and being part of the Skype
community.  And for those of you who missed out on using Skype last
week – I want to especially thank you as well.

As a goodwill gesture to all you faithful Skype Pro, Skype Unlimited,
SkypeIn or Skype Voicemail customers, we’re adding an additional seven
days to your current subscription, free of charge.  And even if you
didn’t miss out on using Skype last week – you can still have a week
free on Skype, on the house!

So please enjoy it, call your loved ones, friends, family and
colleagues and thanks again.

Talk soon,
The people at Skype

Damn Egyptians have a great sense of humor!

Pokerth

Well, a couple of months ago I didn’t even know how to play poker. After I got to know some people who play it a lot, I learned quickly and became top dog (jk i know you guys are laughing!). But anyways i didnt like many of the poker programs available, either it was because of the need to make an account to use online because its a professional poker site or the interface wasn’t good looking. I used Hold’em which was a microsoft game, and it was good, but it only available for windows vista ultimate, and i have business edition. Anyways i found an amazing program which is open source for all you open source lovers, has a great look, has online capability (even though i haven’t tried it yet), and even has all the hand strengths always there when playing so you never have to look further when in an argument with friends at home! you can download it at www.pokerth.net P.S. there are versions Windows, Linux and OS X

Vista Driver Problems?

I’ve had (and im sure many of you also have had) trouble with  vista installing drivers of  products that usually don’t need drivers, and these devices worked fine with Windows XP. Well i’ve found a fix, for most of those devices, when Windows Vista asks if you have the driver, just point it to C:\Windows (assuming that is where you have windows installed) and include subfolders. It will then find the driver, im not sure why windows doesn’t automatically find the drivers, but whatever, probably a bug.

Vista Networking Woes!

Networking Problems Vista

ok so we all know that there are bugs in vista, but the most annoying one for me, is to do with networking, yeah they fixed a lot of network issues from xp, like making faster (at least i feel it is) anyways what annoys me is when vista adds numbers to the end of network names for no reason, which confuses a lot of things (See picture), and somtimes even thinks its connected to two networks at the same time and then the internet doesnt work when it thinks its connected to two networks, that happened to me with a wired connection. Please digg this so we can get someones attention at microsoft, i hope it does, please leave comments, i know you can merge and delete connections but that has no use because they keep coming back (Click The Image to get the full size)

Ps: all those network ssid’s are infact the same one, even the one im connected to, linksys6 wtf?  I contacted Microsoft about this, and they said they can’t guarantee it will be addressed since only one person complains

Canada, Eh?

Canada Eh?

Not such a big deal but theres a new four seasons hotel in Alexandria in this new complex, pretty high standards for Egypt!

I- PHONE availible in Egypt!

Ok in Egypt this is how marketing works, just use anything thats popular in hopes of attracting customers. I swear i’m not even joking, ive been on vacation here doing army exemption paper work, and i can’t stand it, every cell phone shop i see has fake ipod, etc. and all of them have to have a huge brand name on it(Sony, iPod and they even put both brands on at the same time, so you know its good when Sony and apple have collaborated!)
